Testimony of the "Dare to be different" retreat.
Tina's Testimony
What do I think about the retreat?
Well, retreat was simply awesome. In just these 3 days, I’ve managed to get the most out of it. Just spending a little time out of my busy schedule and the hectic of life to spend time with God was amazing.
This retreat has taught me a lot of things. It has taught me that I can do God's work through the Holy Spirit’s guidance. It also taught me that God is always there for me and that he will never leave me in times of trouble. To experience God's Love was so wonderful. I felt peace within me.
This retreat has totally changed my point of view on certain things in life. Although it was very intense, I really enjoyed it. It has answered many of my questions that I keep asking God and at the same time, it has educated me on a lot of things.
The theme of this retreat is
“Dare To Be Different”.
How can I be different as a catholic and as a youth? Well, I will preach the word of God to the people out there and tell them that God is always there for us and to love us. If there is one thing I can say that I’ve taken back form the retreat is that God's love for us is just tremendous and never ending! He loves us more than we can ever imagine.
At the same time, I’ve also managed to make a lot of NEW friends, formed special bonds with everyone, and also to strengthen the old friendships.
Someone once told me that JPYM is not just a youth group but a Family Unit. We are always there to support each other and this certainly is true,
we are one Big Happy Family.
To all my JPYM family members,
“I Love You Guys a lot and I Got all your backs.”
To my youth leaders Joel and Kathleen,
“Thank you for putting together this wonderful retreat for us.”
And a special shout out to Kathleen,
“Thank you for everything you did for us during the retreat and for always watching our backs”
Take care and God Bless.

RETREAT LOG
DAY 1 -
Started nicely except for the delay (one hour delay, a usual thing for us Asians) but it was such a bummer in the bus when most of us were sleeping :(
Didn't really know what to expect at Lancelin but when we got there I was like; hell epic! we had the whole place to ourselves XD
Checking out the area they had - pool tables, ping pong tables and a foosball table (though all of them were screwed up), I knew where I was going to be spending most of my time here: D
Sadly enough we didn't get to choose our beds but I was happy with the room I got: D
We got through our first 2 session (right?) on the first day..
bla bla bla went to sleep at 3 am.. A fun day :)
DAY 2 -
This was a very holy day indeed!! We went through a number of sessions, kept silent the whole day in order to maintain the Holy Spirit-ness.. A very spiritual-draining day..
Night was fun for me.. Yohaan, Priscilla, Ash, Asia, John and I stayed up till 5 telling ghost stories and Priscilla and I ended up sharing one bed and Yohaan, Ash and Asia ended up sharing one bed. I don’t know about Prisci but I slept soundly :)
DAY 3 –
I knew it was the last day of retreat and I was pretty bummed and I thought to myself, next time instead of a retreat, we should do a CAMPP..
Our crew woke up late as usual (except john, seriously what is he on?!) Prisci and Asia was sick so they had to leave early :((
After a session and mass we started cleaning up..
We went to the beach :) ran around chasing ducks for dinner(all fail!)
Left and this time even I slept in the bus...
All in all I had fun hey..
ps - I kicked john's ass in pool xD
